The Best Proposals

I love an epic proposal.  You know the kind you hear of and your heart flutters a little at how cool it is. And it seems lately that the guys are really pulling out all the stops!  One of my girlfriends fiance (who is getting married in August! Yay!) hired a photographer to take pictures of his proposal so that they would always have the memory.  How adorable is that?  I love it.

Recently I came across this Live Lip-Dub proposal by Isaac to his lovely lady.  This is one of my favorites!  How fun is this?  And I love even more how involved everyone got and they really went for it!

This guy really went all out and spent 9 months planning his proposal.  He wrote and directed a "movie trailer" for his fiance.  She didn't even know it was a proposal until the last 3 seconds of the trailer!

Surprise proposals can even happen to celebrities!  Angie Harmon is one of my favorite actresses and in 2000 her then boyfriend, Jason Sehorn surprised her and proposed on Jay Leno.

This one is so cute!  This guy had all his performance art buddies help him propose in Central Park!

Of course I happen to love my proposal story.  Even if it wasn't filmed or went viral!  What about you?  Have you seen any epic proposal stories lately that you loved?

Photo Sharing the Easy Way!

In this day and age it seems nearly everyone has a cell phone with a camera on it.  And if you are anything like me you take pictures of all your friends and family and every event you go to.  Especially parties and weddings!  So imagine you could gather all those pictures that everyone takes at your wedding and have them in one place to share with everyone!  How cool would that be?  That's just what you can do with PictureClique.

PictureClique is online storage you can pay for, then your guests can download the app onto their phone and upload all the pictures of your event using just an event code!  It will organize all the pictures and even provide you with a DVD of them.  Such a great idea!

Free for you & me!

Let's face it, wedding planning can be a financial burden no matter how much money you have socked away.  From the unforeseen costs to the unexpected guests sometimes it is all a bit overwhelming.  One of the first things I do when I am party planning (and when I was planning my wedding) was to start searching online for free printables.  And when you can find things for free it will certainly help your budget out!

The great thing about all the wedding websites and blogs that there are now about weddings is how much FREE printables you can find!  One of my favorite websites, Wedding Chicks, has an extensive selection of printables and DIY projects that you can customize and print.   They offer everything from invitation suites to will you be my cards!  And their stuff is so cute!

Another great place to look for printables is Martha Stewart Weddings.  We all wish we could be as crafty as Martha so why not let her help make your day a little nicer?  These placecards are simple and elegant.  She also offers a wide variety of favors clipart and templates for just about every type of favor you could imagine!

You can also find some pretty comprehensive lists out there of all the free printables there are.  Just two of the lists I found were from Offbeat Bride and de Lovely Affair, two of my favorite new wedding blogs!

Do you think you would use free printables for your wedding day or would you rather have someone else do it for you?  What other items will you be DIY?

Nail it!

I have this thing about nails.  I love cute and funky nails.  I give myself a manicure weekly and it is never the same twice.  For me it is a fun and subtle way to add a pop of color or some sparkle to my day!   And what a great way to add a little fun to your wedding day too!

How beautiful is this gradient glitter manicure?!  I love this!  It is subtle enough to not distract from your dress or other accessories, but will add a bit of sparkle.  And would be fun to have for your honeymoon too!

Here is another pretty option, a pale pink nail with a heart drawn on one finger.  I love this color and the heart is such a cute touch.

This manicure is gorgeous!  Glittery and yet subtle, it is a mixture of silver glitter and gold glitter.  I might have to try this one out myself for my next night out!

And you can never go wrong with a classic (and my favorite!) red manicure.  There is something so strong, beautiful and so ladylike about a red nail!

What style of manicure are you going for?  Bold or subtle?  Glittery or shiny?

Etsy Love

I first discovered Etsy when I was planning my own wedding.  And boy did I fall in love.  There isn't anything you can't find there!  Plus, when you purchase from the sellers on Etsy you are supporting small businesses.  Etsy even has a specific wedding section broken down into different categories!

I used Etsy not only to find gifts for my bridesmaids but also jewelry for my lovely maids and gifts for my mom.  But since then I've used Etsy to plan many parties and find lovely little gifts for my friends.

Looking through the Etsy wedding section makes me want to plan my wedding all over again!  I love these Mr. & Mrs. chair signs.  They are so cute!

Photo booths have become a very popular wedding trend and can be so much fun at a reception!  Etsy is a great place to find some fun props if you want to set up a photo booth.

I love edible favors.  I just think people appreciate being able being able to eat their thank you gifts.  I picked caramel apples for my favors.  These Fleur de Sel caramels would be such a yummy addition to your candy bar or as a stand alone favor.

How adorable is this cake topper?  Oh my goodness I love it so much!  I need a cake to put it on top of!

These gorgeous invitations would have been perfect for my wedding!  Fall leaves were my theme and these would have fit in perfectly!

I just love Etsy!  Do you plan on using Etsy to help with your wedding planning?
